S3 - Season Finale - Series Finale - The One Where I Say Goodbye

WOW! It has been a little while since I have sent out a weekly letter but well I guess it's as good as time as ever to send one out because well, quite frankly it's the last one. Yup, it's been 2 whole years and it's time to come home. It is definitely a very bitter sweet moment, but it's something that we all saw coming. So I'm going to give you all a little bit of an update so when I get home you don't have to ask ðŸ˜‰ (jk feel free to ask!)

The last couple of months have been crazy, just like the rest of my mission. After serving as a secretary of references and technology for a couple of months I was sent out to live right under the snow capped volcano in a pueblito called Tecalco. It's rich in history and has some really great people here. The church, it has a huge history that I won't go into in depth, but it was the first part of Mexico that the Lord chose to start His work. Many different prophets and apostles have visited here in my small town because God has chosen this place to be a special place. If you would like to read more about why you can look up the third convencion of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints.

Right now I am serving with Elder Vargas from Tijuana and I am training Elder Butcher from Eagle mountain Utah. We have a lot of fun and get along really well. Where I am right now, we don't have a lot of work. When I first got here we didn't have anyone to teach at all, so we had to start from scratch. In the last couple of weeks we have been able to find a couple of great families to teach.

Well this is the end. I don't even know how to state in words how grateful I am to have the opportunity to serve a full time mission. I have grown so much and changed more than I can imagine. I have had such a crazy and amazing story from serving in Mexico to the Covid outbreak and then having to come home, work for the hospital for months, serve in Washington DC, then back to Mexico city to finish the last 6 months of my mission. Along all of this crazy and unstable journey, there has been one thing that has continually grown, My testimony and trust in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I might be some 20 year old kid that doesn't know much, but I do know that He lives. I know that with all of my heart and soul and no matter where I was in the world, I could see that simple fact change lives forever.

I am sad to say goodbye, but I am happy to see all of you in just a few days. I will fly in on Tuesday July 13, just a few days, and if you would like to come by and say hi, you can message me through social media, email me, or reach out to my family. My homecoming will be the 18th at 9 AM so check instagram and facebook for an address!

For the last time,

Elder Draper
